Gary Glausser joined Birchmere in 2000 to focus on early stage technology and life sciences companies. He is a current or past director of Advanced Software Applications, Be Here, Compucare, Metabolex, Paradigm Software, Precision Therapeutics, Renal Solutions, and TissueInformatics.
Gary has over 25 years of experience in financial management, investing, lending, and public accounting. He began his career at Price Waterhouse providing audit and consulting services to companies in a variety of industries. During this time, he was the creator, editor, and major contributing author of “Buying and Selling a Business,” a Price Waterhouse guide for executives of emerging, growing, and middle-market companies. At Westinghouse Credit Gary held various positions in lending, investing, and controller capacities. He was a deal maker leading investments in excess of $200 million in a number of later-stage company financings. Later he became VP/Controller of various investment portfolios totaling in excess of $5 billion.
Gary is past president of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association, the 3 Rivers Venture Fair, the Association for Corporate Growth (Pittsburgh chapter), Financial Executives International (Pittsburgh chapter). He is director of St. Clair Hospital, Sculptor Development (a subsidiary of St. Clair Hospital), and the Regional Development Funding Corporation. Gary is also a frequent guest lecturer at several local universities. Gary holds a B.S. from John Carroll University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
