Jeanne Cunicelli is a Partner at Bay City Capital, leading their strategic advisory business since 1998 in providing services to such clients as Rhone Poulenc Crop Science Division, Mallinckrodt, Monsanto, and Ralston Purina. For such clients she and her team developed emerging technology strategies, identified spinout opportunities, and created acquisition strategies for slow-growth divisions. Jeanne has led many of the firm’s recent investments, including Syntonix, Calypso, and Itamar Medical. Her particular areas of expertise are medical devices and biopharmaceuticals. She is a past or current director of Calypso Medical Technologies, Inspired Technologies, Protez Pharmaceuticals, and PTC Therapeutics.
Jeanne was previously assistant director of Ernst & Young’s National Healthcare Group where she led development of the firm’s industry leading report from 1992-97, detailing statistics including number of companies, private and public fundraising, strategic alliances, and other important industry metrics. Through interviews for this report, Jeanne developed valuable contacts with the industry’s leaders from regulatory, political, legal, financial, operational, and business segments.
Jeanne is a trustee of the University of San Francisco. She holds a B.S. in Cognitive Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco.
